#28- New Years Eve

In Atlanta

The peach dropping

Happy New Year!

Last night was new years eve...and as long as I can remember I have wanted to spend it downtown...well last night I did! I went downtown with jimmy(my little brother) and his wife Jen. We went to watch the peach drop in Atlanta...first we booked a hotel so we wouldn't get stuck in crazy traffic, and come to find out when you book on Expedia you might pay just a little more for a hotel than you would for parking...and it's way easier! Well we ate at two urban licks for dinner...which if you have never been you must try, because it's simply amazingly yummy food...then we headed the hotel to switch out of our heels and into to comfy warm boots, which proved to be an excellent idea and headed to underground Atlanta...ok so I am going to be very honest, it wasn't what I expected...I had been downtown for many things but this was very different then any of the times before...first it was crazy crowded and crowds are usually exciting to me, I love being around people, well this was even a little to crowded for me...there were times where you were squished up on people while people tried to get by...another thing I was surprised about were the people...I know this sounds bad, but I was quite the minority, and I am not use to that, and it didn't bother me that I was one of few white people around, but the type of people I was around. ..it was very ghetto feeling, I honestly was little worried at times...
on a good note however it was really exciting to be down town, people waiting for the last few minutes of 2011 to be over and the count down was fun...also there was a great firework display...and I love fire works! After new years arrived we walked back to our hotel...there was a lot of interesting activity to be seen on the way back...people having dance parties on their cars while in traffic and five guys in front of use acting crazy...it was an awesome experience and I'm so glad I went down town for it...however I think it's a once in a life time thing and don't plan on ever going again.

  1. Sounds like I would have hated it! Lol. Not a fan of tight crowds. Glad you still had fun! :) -Brenna
